Is a franchise right for you

March 31st, 2009

Have you ever thought that the people who own the local McDonalds, Pizza Hut or Ace Hardware store are lucky because they must be financially secure and successful? Franchise opportunities provide individuals with the ingredients for success. People who buy a franchise, are able to benefit from a well established and highly profitable brand name. There are many franchise opportunities available to ambitious and creative entrepreneurs.

As you can imagine it is not cheap to buy a McDonalds, Pizza Hut or any other franchise. The prices vary depending upon the worth of the franchise and their level of success. There are a few approaches you can use if you want to purchase one of the many franchise opportunities. You can try to find a partner or investor. In addition, you can apply for a loan. If you have any of your own funds for investment, that will provide you with a good starting point.

Do not select the first franchise opportunity that you find. Not all franchises are created equally. Take the time to research franchise opportunities online, in business magazines and with any other resources available to you. Consider the products and services offered by the franchise, the length of time they have been in business and any other important details you can find.

Are you willing to put in long hours and hard work? As with any type of business, you need to be motivated and have a strong work ethic if you purchase one of the franchise opportunities available on the market. It does help if you have some background running a business if you want to do well with your franchise.

The process to apply for a particular franchise opportunity varies depending upon the franchise. You will probably be required to complete a large amount of paperwork n order to apply. Some franchises are more selective than others. You will need to demonstrate that you will uphold the reputation of that franchise well and that you have the potential to be successful.

A franchise does provide you with the opportunity for success. You can benefit from a brand that has been on the market for awhile. There is no need for you to do market research to see if the product or service would be well received. In addition, you do not need to spend money introducing the product to the market. Carefully consider a franchise opportunity to determine if owning a franchise is your formula for success.

A federal judge in Washington on Thursday ordered the release of five Algerians who have been held without charges at the US military base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, for seven years. US District Judge Richard J. Leon said the five men could not be held indefinitely as enemy combatants, but he said the military could continue to detain Belkacem Bensayah, one of the six Algerians who challenged his confinement. The government had accused all six of the men of planning to travel to Afghanistan to …

In regards to taxes, which is more important to you: How it is Raised or How it is spent?

March 30th, 2009

For centuries governments have had taxation of one form or another. Everyone hates them, but this is the way the government gets money to support the social programs we want to have in our society. Two of the biggest questions have always been what is the best allocation of collecting taxes from the public and then deciding how to spend the collected funds.

But some people are more concerned with how they are raised then how they are spent. Look in any newspaper in the world and you will see the varying opinions. Who carries the burden of the taxation: Corporations or Individuals?

Consumers will typically want corporations to carry the majority of the tax burden while the corporations are on life support currently and expect the tax generation to come from the consumer.

While the individual taxation does affect everyone, business owners will more often see it that they are in business and are already faced with many obstacles in todays market with wages, property taxes, payroll taxes and everything else that they are paying out monthly and if they have anything left for themselves, they would like to be able to pay their own bills.

Because of the general attitude of the general public, feeling that individuals that own businesses are rich and well off, people think that companies have lots of expendable cash. This, we all know now, is very far from the truthso who will pay the taxes needed to cover the debt we are incurring with Obama?

Then once all the taxes are collected, how are they to be spent? What is important to us? Do we want to help support the ailing auto industry with the pool or let them fall. How about giving more money to AIG? Is it important to continue to spend millions of dollars on peacekeeping efforts in other countries?

So which is it to you? Are you More Concerned with Where the Tax Dollars Come from or Where they go?
